In most scenarios the following strategic principles apply to a good strategy:

~ The more you attack, the less you will find your opponent attacking, i.e. a good offence is a good defence.

~ Make absolutely everything you can as hard for them as possible in terms of the battle between you and them.

~ Make a judgment of who is strongest in the last measure (for instance sending everything you have at them in war) and by how much and according to this, you will be able to see the boundaries in lighter measures of which you cannot afford to go past to provoke them to the most desperate measure.

Tank

~ You can get to know as much as you can about your enemy and what they are doing when. This way you can read their actions and how they will react, plus what situation they are in, in terms of their 'strength' against you and also if they have any particular weaknesses.

~ Conceal yourself to the enemy. The less they know about you, the less they will know what to do. Only release deceptive information to the enemy so they will act ineffectively.

~ Make full use of deception to win the battle and even lies if you believe it to be just.

Karate Fight

~ If your opponent is being very ruthless and immoral in their process of battle, take full advantage of their ruthlessness, i.e. spread the word to outsiders about such immorality.

~ Be fully aware of what exact happenings will enable you to win the battle - aim to not go a step too far or a step inside of this.

~ When you are in a situation whereby you can aid to your campaign or the opponent can take away from your campaign, pay full attention and focus purely on the battle.

~ Appear un-phased by anything they do, unless as specifically part of your strategy you are to appear frightened.

~ If you are facing a highly-aggressive opponent, it is far more likely there ways of battle are less thought out than they could be, plus they will uncover themselves and their strategies more to you. Do not seek to be as aggressive in return, as they have had more practice at that; instead analyse and study your opponents aggressive actions and character so that you can react to their uncovered aggressive attacks with effective power later.

Scenario

~ Get to know the surroundings and scenario you will be battling under extremely well. This will utterly craft your tactics to be more effective as you will know what pitfalls there are around and what particulars there are that can help you. For instance, knowing that there is a deep river 2km behind your army will allow you to know not to accidentally run into it and be stuck when you may be retreating.
