I know if I ask many of the kids at my high school whether or not they have a job, most of them will say yes. If I also ask them if they do any school activities like band or sports many will say yes to that question too. But if I ask them how much their boss likes to schedule their hours around their other activities, what will they say then?
Most of them would probably say that sometimes they miss their activities because work couldn't be scheduled for another date or they could not get someone to take their shift. Does this mean that their activities are taking them away from their jobs or are their jobs taking them away from their activities?
I have been in activities where someone couldn't make it to a practice because a job so they were cut from the program. It can really let down the others in the activity if someone is missing.
But a lot of you that do have jobs are probably reading this and saying, well I need the money. Those of you that are in High school could probably find a way to earn money without making such a commitment to something that may interfere with your current schedule.
So think about what is really worth it, keeping with your friends and what you love, or working 3-6 everyday and getting the $8.00 an hour you so badly need.
