Letter From a Broken Heart
by Natasha Tombes
A letter from my broken heart,
as true to its end as from the start.
The tears i cried my heart does dread,
weeping eyes shot through with red,
at thoughts of that evening in the park,
that started out as just a lark.
that felt like a demon sent from hell,
as confidently it rang our love, a bell.
Knowing it would cause disaster,
that there'd be no happy ever after.
While there with members of our class,
We lay our backs into the grass,
Staring to the skys above,
And in the darkness we found love.
Too soon you brought it to an end,
Denied to even be my friend,
And that night as you looked away,
I decided forever I would stay.
My life for my love he'd made a trade,
From my pocket I took a blade,
And in the moment of our last kiss,
My life did then come down to this,
The last words of my broken heart,
My lifes end was quicker then its start.
