I live in the land of what ifs
Ignoring all certainty
Nobody ever gives
They just take a part of me

Refusing to deny my heart
Tuning out thoughts in my head
Always looking for a fresh start
Following my feelings instead

Tired of being the second choice
Wanting someone of my own
Blocking out my inner voice
No longer want to be alone

Settling for second best
My soul is truly crushed
I have been used like the rest
My heart and mind are hushed
